Summer Camp Counselor/Lifeguard
Location: Cedarland Family Fun Center - Haverhill, MA
Counselors will supervise swimming activities at the camp pool and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are being followed. They are also responsible for ensuring that campers follow the rules and regulations of the camp while having the best summer camp experience EVER!
Position Responsibilities:
- Supervise campers and ensure their safety, age appropriate development, and general well-being
- Lead various small and large group activities
- Participation in camp activities (special event days, dress up days etc.)
- Knows, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp program
- Mediate any camper disputes
- Instructing daily swim lessons, and enforcing water safety
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of our facility
- Maintain constant surveillance of the pool area, evaluate conditions for safety, and initiate the required aquatic emergency action plan
- Warn swimmers of improper activities/danger and enforces water safety and pool regulations
- Administer first aid in the event of an injury, and rescues swimmers in distress, danger, or drowning to administer CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary
Qualifications:
- American Red Cross Lifeguard training certificate
- American Red Cross CPR and AED training
- Background checks required
